Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes text commentary of the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard on designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week of the football calendar and following recent discussion about two top teams as possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking in those games was the number of penalties both conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they kind of defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the fourth period against the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

But it proved good to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall before direct three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, to win the victory by four points.

The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year in CB Pat Surtain II. They rank first in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, and Denver won that contest.

They had effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not necessarily sending more than four defenders but they could position two LBs in the 'A' gap then drop them out and send a slot defender from the outside.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program that Denver could be the current year's dark horses. They finished last season strongly then excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

New tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly while recent running back JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He now ranks fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (402) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

It's impressive how head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver represent a team aiming to prioritize the run, because one can do a lot off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush and keeps you in positive situations.

This has helped quarterback the young passer, who came the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess powerful arms to throw all over, but they don't move in the same way as Nix. He boasts incredible arm talent, which is different, and he's highly agile.

His strengths are his mobility, the capacity to throw while moving, as well as using different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got great composure in the pocket and isn't bothered by the blitz. He tries to avoid a sack as much as possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

When you consistently run the ball it consumes time and makes the defence to be on the field for longer, and when you have a mobile QB the defense must defend the field vertically side to side. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back with the coach during games at times and I think Payton likes that fire, that he's such a competitor. I think it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback who's kind of like play-dough. The coach can truly build something up how he desires to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the success Denver are experiencing offensively is mostly down to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with Nix aids make him what he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you through difficult moments and build self-belief.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.

Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're performing above average, which is a solid position to be in the AFC West. The key is is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their strength, that is running the ball, and that's exactly what they must do against the Jets in London. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they're the sole squad yet to win any game.

Since the NFL started recording turnovers in 1933, this team are the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their break (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the division.

It depends upon which form Kansas City shows up they meet because Denver {beat|def
