Growing Cybersecurity Concerns

The latest project comes amid growing concern about the UK's exposure to digital service failures and online threats.

Recent events have highlighted these weaknesses, including a major outage affecting international online platforms and recent cyber-attacks that affected operations at key facilities and distribution networks across various businesses.

Leadership and Oversight

A former commander of the the nation's space operations center will deliver recommendations next month on how the government-funded institute can most effectively assist the scope of official artificial intelligence goals in national security, national security and intelligence.

Organizational Refocusing

The institute's chair, a previous Amazon UK leader, confirmed that 78 different research projects at the center employing hundreds have been closed, spun out or finished because they fail to match with the new direction.
